NVIDIA has released some new drivers that supposedly enable the soundstorm under linux. This means hardware mixing and dolby digital encoding!!! Plus it has an updated nvnet driver. I was so excited to see my dolby digital light come on when I rebooted! Though I still don't have my /dev entries. I think the drivers use OSS so I am compiling OSS support into my kernel right now to test that. We'll see how it goes.
Oh yeah the link:

edit: well I get my /dev entries now with OSS but nothing is playing. I try to play in xmms and it doesn't play. I try mplayer and it doesn't play.
edit2: I'm running 2.6.8.1
edit3: My excitement is quickly fading. Nothing is playing. My machine hardlocks when I click either the digital or analog output settings in nvmixer.
