We just got word from Intel that the new RST storage drivers offer support for HDDs that are larger than 2 terabytes in AHCI mode. Grab them if you need them.

ok, so it works in AHCI mode. it still doesn't fix large raid arrays. I'm not impressed.

I agree. Just had a 4TB Raid 10 setup go bad. Switched to single drives and Raid 1 on the OS for my documents and now Im getting Verification Errors on that. Probably the page file, but its annoying.

    !!! CAUTION !!!
    !!! CAUTION !!!
    !!! CAUTION !!!

These drivers just majorly screwed up my Intel D975XBX2 Win7 PC. System was un-bootable (just hung at loading screen) and windows repair could not do anything.
Ended up having to move the boot drive over to the 2nd SATA controller just to boot into windows and managed to uninstall the new drivers and then reinstall Intel Matrix drivers to finally fix the issue.
Unless you have a good backup or a 2nd non-Intel SATA controller I would be very cautious before trying these out. You have been warned!

Sounds about right for Intel drivers. This is why I use a 3Ware (LSI) controller now. Intel has never been good with drivers. Their video drivers have more issues than Windows Vista. Their raid drivers have integrity issues, and their network drivers for Linux cause constant dropped packets. They refuse to acknowledge any problems with the drivers, and therefore never fix anything.
