Watch New Horizon, hosted by Geoff Keighley, for an exclusive advance preview of our new “Zen” CPU ahead of its 2017 Q1 launch.

See eSports & Evil Geniuses legend PPD put “Zen” through its paces. There’ll be appearances from special guests and giveaways.

This is the first time the public will be able to try it themselves and see what it’s capable of. If you’re serious about gaming, this is an event you do not want to miss.

Wonder if Kyle can get there or not.... AMD - we want [H] there!

I bet Roy Taylor would be there, and there will be fisticuffs if Kyle goes. It'll start cordially enough, but once liquor starts flowing, and VR performance metrics are discussed - things will get nasty quick.

Looking forward to this coverage, it's hard to ignore all of the SR7 power rumors, and I really want to believe in them. Some real world gameplay (with hopefully some heavy hitting games) would allow myself to get hyped.

Yeah those power rumours are what I don't get. Sure Intel has smaller transistors, but does it really make that much of a power difference? Intel packs more shit in, disables more depending on end user/chip type, leading to larger die but really I don't see how AMD can have such good power numbers. If so, colour me impressed.

True, if Roy is there not so good. Send Steve in! You know you want to...

I'm keeping an open mind that they can pull out something competitive on some level (low/mid/high) if not multiple. It would be nice to pickup a SR7 in February that exceeds my 6700k in MT tasks.

Oh great, just when I was starting to calm down, now a reason to get excited again. :) Also looking forward to Star Wars: Rogue One.

You only need to get excited if you want to overpay for less performance just to follow the red team.

For those that haven't changed out a CPU in 5+ years, here is a MSI video on how to do it. We all need a refresher course on these things. ;) :) :)

Choo choo!

Show me the real-world performance. Had enough of AMD marketing shens.

I say Kyle should only go if he can steal a Zen secretly to find the real performance, otherwise hitting your head against the wall maybe more productive. I just have much distaste for these types of events unless AMD changes their format. If AMD tells the visitors -" hey bring your software/programs/games and go ahead and load up Windows what ever version or Linux for that matter. We will help with any kind of drivers etc." Then that would be awesome, fun and really would show that AMD is confident about Zen.

So people are going to see what, Dota 2 at 60 FPS? Remember Polaris and Hitman demo.

Reading between the lines is required now , AMD can't say anything that would be considered negative that would have some serious impact.
The way the Zen launch is handled seems so alien as almost it is going to change the world and in reality it is not. Will change things for AMD if they handle it well.

Anyone remember the last press conference where AMD bowled you over in awe of their message ?

8 Days to go and looking forward to it. Last time I was this excited was when I bought an R9 290 back in November of 2013.

Kyle needs to sneak in like a ninja! I want to hear on twitter him tweeting how he snuk in and reporting and see if AMD is tracking his twitter and goes hunting for him to kick him out. BAHAHAHA

Nah, just so long as he leaves Roy alone, I doubt they would even care. ;)

As I said during many software and hardware launches in the last couple years...

"Please don't suck..."

So I am looking forward to this announcement. I used to use AMD chips only. My last AMD PC had an Athlon X2 6400+ lasted a real long time till i upgraded to a i7 3770

Why are you doubting the capabilities of this CPU? IT'S NAMED AFTER A FRICKEN SR71 JET!!!

Isn't that the plane that leaked fuel if it did not maintain speed?

Sure is, expansion gaps and exotic materials were the name of the game for this record holder. The Ruskies still have the 1000km payload + absolute jet powered altitude record (amongst a few others) with the Mig 29 though, by doing a huge vertical climb.

well yeah because of the expansion gaps could have fuel leaks lol, now if that a happens with Zen that would be one hell of a pun.

LOL that is unintentionally hilarious. Leakage and CPUs is not something you want in the same sentence xD.. I should've thought this one through before digging myself a shitpost hole!

On second thoughts, if it all turns to shit, boy do we have a good mascot..

Did you know that thing could climb 64,000 foot from the ground in one minute.... monstrous power.
