new HDD weirdness

So I installed the following HDD in my new computer:

and it seems to work just fine. However, ever since I did this, windows has been being weird. For one, my time and date are all out of whack and won't update no matter what. When I try to synch time and date w/ any of the server options, i get the following message:

"An error occurred when Windows was synchronizing with *insert server option here*"

Also, ever since i booted up w/ the new hdd, i've been getting blocked from all new websites I go to and am having to click to get a some kind of a safety certificate to proceed.

FYI, I was running Vista 64 just fine off of my 300GB Velociraptor before hand, and am still booting windows off that drive. Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on?!

Yea you manually change your date to the present.

Indeed. Does anyone know how I can fix the underlying problem?

I can't tell you. Have you tried downloading and running any HDD diagnostic tools?

Have you tried looking through the Microsoft website for a potential hotfix?
