Hey All -

So I've read through a ton of threads and between talk of panel types, 120hz, LED displays, and all kinds of other crap... I'm left incredibly confused. I'm building a new machine that will be powered by two Radeon 6950s. I'm looking primarily for gaming as I have a 27' inch iMac for all the other production stuff.

Budget: Up to $400.

I know there's a million similar threads but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Feels off. You have 2x6950s (over 400$ for GPU alone), yet you're not laying out more than 400$ for a monitor?

I'm pretty much maxing out my budget on the machine itself. Was trying to keep the price down on display and spending over like 500 on the display seems daunting. :-/

Imo you'd be better "balanced" if you have 1x 6950 and less of a penny-pinching monitor.

I'm not saying that 400$ is too little. I'm just saying that you need to loosen up the budget limit on the monitor requirement, because I don't see how 2 6950s will get "pushed" much with a 24/27" monitor.

Two 6950's would be pushed by a 27" monitor at 2560x1440 resolution IMO.

Yeah for sure.. my 5870 can handle a 24" pretty well.. 2x 6950 for 24" will be pretty overkill.

Well if I were to shoot for a 27, or possibly even an Eyefinity setup, would that make sense? I'm all ears with your advice!

Eyefinity is your best deal. I got 3 20" acers for $200. Getting 3 22" would be pretty sweet and in your price range.
