Hi everybody. It seems I am back again to ask for help on a new build! So, I do appreciate the help beforehand! Is there a donation pot? :)

Anyways my current computer (rig in sig (actually 8gb ram now)) is getting kind of dated. It still plays all the games but It definitely can not max out brand new games anymore like it used to. So, I'm back now to build a new one! However I've been so busy lately with other things I haven't kept up with the latest hardware technology. So, for the questions:

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Primarily gaming, school work, web browsing, etc.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$2000 give or take
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Oklahoma
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case, Mobo, CPU, GPU, RAM, PSU, DVDR(blueray?), HDD(SSD maybe?), CPU cooler
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I'll be reusing my monitors for now (24" 1080p), but I will eventually upgrade them to perhaps a larger screen and higher resolution eventually. Also keyboard/mouse etc. Oh, I also have a Hitachi HDS721075 (750gb) unused, don't know if it's outdated now though.
6) Will you be overclocking?
On my current PC my motherboard came with a button I could press that automatically overclocked my i5 750 to about 3.6ghz, but other than that I'm not sure how to do it. So I'd like to? Either way I would like an aftermarket CPU cooler. I do have the CM Hyper 212+ at the moment on my current rig.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
I have two 24" 1080p Acers.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
As Soon As Possible
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Hrm. I suppose USB 3.0 and Sata 6, I don't need onboard video. I probably won't go SLI/Xfire because I like to keep my temperatures down and just have one powerful GPU, but I'm open to suggestions.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
I have a Win7 64bit Pro somewhere but I've been searching for it for days so I'll probably just buy another copy. That or Windows 8 I cannot decide. That can be included in the budget but doesn't have to be.

Sorry if this is really long. I really do appreciate all the help I'm always given on this website! Thank you so much.

**edit** I'm going to raise my budget to about $2,000 give or take. Makes a little more wiggle room for perhaps an i7 (i play bf4 a lot and i hear it utilizes it better) and more future proofing.

Ok so i've done some research and I have a headache but I've put together something small to get me started perhaps. Let me know if it's a bad idea.

Also, I have Amazon Prime, and I've noticed a few deals because of black friday.

$299 - Intel Core i7-4770k
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CO8TBQ0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

$194.99 - Asus Z87 PRO LGA 1150
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CRJSXR4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

$149.99 - Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8gb) DDR3 1600mhz
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006EWUO22/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I'm having trouble deciding between the:

$419 EVGA GTX 770 4GB
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E5AEIKE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

$309 XFX Double D R9 280x
http://www.amazon.com/XFX-RADEON-10...d=1385514627&sr=8-3-fkmr0&keywords=xfxr9+280x

I'm still open to suggestions on the graphics card I can't really seem to make a solid decision. the 290x seems a bit pricey plus I hear they get pretty hot? No double fans on those? I'm not sure..

As for the case, I wanted the Corsair 800D but it's sold out on both Amazon and Newegg so I'm happy with the :

$159.99 - Corsair Obsidian Series 750D
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EB6O4N8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

This would put me roughly at about $1200 depending on the graphics card. Leaving me plenty of room for the rest or even upgrades of what I've chosen already. I've also noticed some SSD's on amazon black friday from 20-50% off. I just dont know which one to get. Perhaps a 250gb or so one for my OS/Primary games and a 2tb or 3tb for storage?

Also leaves me room for some extra fans to put in the case, and a good CPU cooler. I was looking at the H100s, but I've never done a water cooling type thing like that before, though I know it's a little different.

Prime tells me I have about an hour and 16 minutes to order the stuff If I want it by friday! Would be nice, but seems kind of rushed. :p Any advice on a good PSU and SSD/HDD?

********EDIT***************

I think I've decided on a a SSD, HDD, and CPU Cooler.

$99 - Corsair Hydro Series H100i
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009ZN2NH6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

$129 - Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200rpm 64mb Cache
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005OK9TBC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

$179 - Kingston HyperX 3k 240GB SSD
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007R67FTY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

-------

Ok so after all that (If these are good choices), I just need a good PSU. I'm thinking in the 850W range incase I want to upgrade down the line or something? Any recommendations?

Considering that you're not a heavy duty overclocker nor have you mentioned any specific features that you must have from the Asus Z87 Pro, this motherboard is also overkill for your needs as well. You'll be fine with the cheaper Aus Z87-A:
$140 - Asus Z87-A Intel Z87 Motherboard

$419 EVGA GTX 770 4GB

In terms of price to performance, the R9 280X takes the win. The GTX 770 4GB only makes sense if you absolutely hate AMD and don't mind paying more money for almost the same performance. Not to mention that the $400 R9 290 outperforms the GTX 770 4GB. So in other words, for best bang for the buck value in the GPU market, go AMD. As for manufacturers, I'd recommend Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI.

So you're aiming for high overclocks?

I recommend the Samsung Evo 250GB instead since A) It's not a Sandforce SSD, B) It's a tad larger, and C) It's cheaper.

You have not mentioned any plans whatsoever for SLI or CFX. So no need for a 850W PSU. You'll be fine with a solid 650W PSU:
$100 - Seasonic G Series SSR-650RM 650W Modular PSU

Thank you for your reply Dangman!
That cheaper motherboard looks great, because yes, I don't really need all the features on the PRO. Not sure what I'd do with WIFI and bluetooth on my motherboard? Haha.

As far as the H100i goes, I would like to learn to properly overclock and yes I want to try overclocking now.

I will look into your SSD recommendation! What's wrong with Sandforce? However cheaper is better!!!

edit* Ok so I looked up the Samsung, it seems it is actually $10 more at a supposed 30% off.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Elect...5527949&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+evo+250gb+ssd
However $10 is no big deal if it means a better SSD.

I did not mention SLI or Xfire true, but I do think I would like that option to upgrade in the future, so do you recommend a proper 850Wish PSU?

Thank you again!

Too much bad history behind it.

Ok, here's the deal: I've seen it happen thousands of times already: People pay the extra money for the ability to go for a CFX/SLI setup. What ends up happening is by the time they actually get around to getting a CFX/SLI setup, it's already too late as there are better cards available that'll use up less power or generate less heat or that the older cards they need are just too overpriced. So they ended up wasting money. In other words, unless you plan on getting a second R9 280X or R9 290 within the next six months, there's a very good chance that you won't ever do it at all. Not to mention that you're playing at 1080P resolution whereas the R9 290 has been shown to provide pretty great performance at the higher resolution of 2560x1600. So there's more than likely a limited need for a second R9 290 unless you're a massive FPS freak.

So are you absolutely serious about getting a second video card for CFX/SLI?

That makes a lot of sense, and you're right, who knows how long it'll take me to get another GPU for SLI/XFIRE. I guess I was just a little scared by your recommendation of a 650w PSU because my current PC uses one from Antec and this system will probably generate a lot less power than the one I'm about to build.

I trust your judgment however.

What about the Seasonic G-750 that got a HardOCP Silver award?

We can meet in the middle. :p

Also, on the SAmsung 840evo 250gb, whats the difference between the single unit version and the desktop kit version? I see a difference of $19 but nothing else but whatever that means.

Actually the new system will probably be around the same power usage level as your current setup.

It's a good PSU but a bad buy at $150. If it was $130, totally. But $150? Too much.

The single unit versions is just for the SSD itself. The desktop kit includes a CD with software to help you transfer your OS to the SSD, SATA 6.0Gb/s cable, and 2.5" to 3.5" adapter. In other words, not really worth it for the desktop kit since most new cases these days will support 2.5" drives just fine, many mid-range to high-end motherboards comes with enough SATA cables, and just do a fresh install of Windows.

Speaking of Windows, you might want to read this article to help you decide between Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8.1:

Thank you soo much! I think I have enough info to get what I need then. I'll report back if I have anything else to add as well when I finish building...

The early Sandforce BSOD problems have been solved with firmware updates. SF or any controller that started early have gone through a rough patch and as a techie I appreciate the innovation & the new technology. Good news is, the latest SF controllers are rated the best!! Also find Sf controller series which supports both SATA III and PCI can read up to 1800 MB/s pretty good. Check this - http://www.tweaktown.com/news/33957...a-iii-and-pcie-native-to-1800-mb-s/index.html (*Stiffy) So why pay more for something that will perform the same doing the same task? Also, with the other drives you have a few more GB of usable space.;)
