My old T3500 has been having cold boot issues from time to time for the last few weeks. Time to kick it back to just data duties ( LTO 3 tape drive ). It was a fun ride and having one of the fastest Precision T3500's I could build was cool
That said, new build will be Ryzen based for sure. I will reuse all of the storage from my current PC except for the boot SSD. and the graphics card. The T3500 will get an old 8600 GT just to display on a monitor.
This is the build I picked out. The motherboard and Ram have both been purchased and the 1070 G1 is my current gfx card. I got the mobo on a good discount and the ram I wanted to get before prices went up. I know MSI is having some bios growing pains, but I probably won't have it together for another few weeks. As far as using NVME/ M.2. I've been on SATA 2 since forever so having a SATA 3 SSD running at SATA 3 speeds will be fast enough for me, at a lower cost
