Well I am about to bite the bullet and form a new core system as my last blew out. My biggest question is about AMD vs. Intel of course.

Right now I am looking at this AMD combohttp://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.308218
That contains a Phenom II 955 Black, ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X mobo, and G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Price= $343.98 -10 with rebate so $333.98

Or this combo for Intel Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W
MSI P55-GD55 LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Price = $406.53

Is the Intel set up worth the extra price? to make up for the prices I already skimped back a bit on the Mobo and went with a MSI GD55 as opposed to a 65. It seemed like too good a price for a solid board to pass up.

So opinions? I need to pull this trigger now...

It doesn't make much difference for gaming, I'd go with the amd setup. For other stuff I dunno.
