So, I finally finished my new Core i7 build.
Specs:
650W Thermaltake PSU
Thermaltake Case
6GB G.Skill 1600 Ram
Core i7 920
EVGA X58 Motherboard
Vista Home Premium 64-bit
ASUS 4870 512mb "Dark Knight"
I origionally had my old Nvidia 8800GT installed, just for testing purposes. But, to make my build complete, I purchased a Radeon 4870. After removing the old 8800, I installed the 4870, plugged in the power supply cables, and reset the CMOS. Booted up windows and installed the latest ATI Catalyst drivers (version 9.2) from their website for Vista 64-bit.
I tried to play CoD:World at War last night, and I was getting absolutely horrible frame rates. The game was unplayable, even on <1024 resolution and low texture settings.
I tried uninstalling the drivers and using the ASUS Driver CD that came with the card, but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Duren
