New Coffee Lake leaks/rumors

claiming to have 10nm/14nm side by side? Eh i don't really buy it

It seems kinda silly and a waste but if yields are that bad maybe but I would be surprised if thats the case. We are now like 4 years behind...this would turn it into like 6 years.

I buy it. Staying on 14 for the first mainstream 6 core chip? Makes all the sense in the world.

You know 10nm yields will be terrible for some time and using them in lower power, lower clocked mobile chips will lower the bar for binning.

Its nothing new. 10 and 14nm was side by side with Haswell/Broadwell too. Low power always comes first due to more money.

thats not comparable. This is like 14/22nm broadwell

Because Haswell Refresh didn't cut it. But as such its no different. Mobile is just the prime segment besides servers.

Icelake will be the first 10nm desktop.
