Hey guys,

Well, I'm back home with the family for the summer, and I'm thinking about buying them a new cable modem. The one we have right now is the original one we got when we first got cable internet, back in 2002. (Actually... almost exactly 4 years ago). Anyway, we usually have to reset the network once or twice a week, and the wireless network gets the "little or no conectivity" every hour or so, which is the primary motivation for me, as I'm the one on the wireless network. I'm not sure if it's the router (Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless/b) because I'm still getting the wireless signal plenty strong, just no connectivity.

Anyway, unless ya'll know for sure the primary issue is the router, I'm pretty sure we need to replace the modem anyway.

So, does this sound like a plan? Any reccomendations on a modem (Cox Cable)? And is it a hassle to install it?

THanks!

The problem should be caused by the router, since your computer is connected to it, and not the modem.
