New and Improved Watercooling Sticky - Post Your Systems Here

Tempting.....;)

You're still dumping the same amount of heat into your case regardless of that ram cooler or not. Adding the cooler doesn't magically make your memory make less heat. It makes the memory run cooler because you're pushing air over them. The air absorbs the heat, and is then pulled out of your case through the radiator.

While adding the fan *might* be better for the health of your memory modules, it's arguable that it raises the temperature of your case because of the heat that the fans themselves make.

With an 800D and 3 120's up top, don't you think that you've got more than enough airflow for your modules without that additional fan attachment?

Valid points. I realise it wont magically remove the heat, but if I remove the fan and use a water block, the only fans will be on the radiators and case. More for aesthetics than anything else.

I'll remove the fan and see how the ram run without it. A $100 for that ram cooler is a nice looking cooler, but pricey.

Not even a week later a few things updated on my system....

First off, RAM cooler removed to see what it would look like without it since it was suggested

Feaser 1 coolant removed as inspection a few days later, gunk found inside my HK 3.0. UV dye already despositing crap on my fins. Back to just plain distilled water and silver. UV LED's changed to color for EK res. bays

I really like the looks of that 800D. If they would only make it out of aluminum...I'd switch out of my Silverstone.

Here is my new Feser radiator. Much better then my old Swiftech.

PHK, kind of curious what your voltreg temps are with the 480 setup you have? I plan on doing the same thing and am wondering if I even need active cooling on the cards like you show in your pics. I have two mcw80s on order and bought some zalman ramsinks (low profile blue aluminum ones) just in case I need them.

Also, were you not able to use the 480s fan at all?

--just posted this in the Lian Li gallery, but figured I'd post them here, too--

My Lian Li. Specs are in my sig. Its a great case and I really enjoyed playing with it. I replaced the grill covers from the stock ones with the air holes to the older style solid aluminium ones. Watercooling is exactly as is shown. Two single 120 radiators to keep the clean lines. Clear fluid, black coil wrap. Stealthed everything possible. It was a fun and frustrating project.

If I ever have to do it all over again, I might just go the simple route. I'm glad I did it, but it was a lot of work getting it set up the exact way I wanted it. :) No pain no gain.

New watercooling parts installed as well as an XFX 5870 now at 1ghz. Idle's at 34C and never goes above 49C @ load. Also installed a new radiator and CPU block. Swiftech Apogee XT. I'm noticing better idle temps by a few degrees and load temps appear to be about the same. [H] forum member Jiggaman helped with the setup and did a damn fine job.

Had to plumb in my hd 5870, so I went and re-did the whole loop.

Im calling it Haf-full, never thought I could fit two 240 rads internal on a unmodded midtower.

That's a cooler master 840 case right?

Looks like you're using the two 240mm fans included to cool the radiator...right?

How does that compare to three 120s?

Here is my updated rig with a new watercooled setup... Let me know what you all think...

sig rig :)

just got the h50. used the fan from a darknight for in and the corsair fan for out on the radiator in my case. did it by turning the radiator sideways and not screwing down the panel all the way (v351b case)

FINALLY at 4ghz :D 1.26v

I saw this thread and all these systems, so I had to join and post mine.
Ignore the PSU, getting replaced soon, and so is the crappy CPU block.
