New and Improved Watercooling Sticky - Post Your Systems Here

img_3553tmoq.jpg

I finally bit the bullet and got myself the 800D. I haven't had any regrets at all. I can easily run 2 watercooling loops with no issues.

Pic of my last build in a Coolermaster stacker. It did me well for a few years, but I wanted it to look clean. No matter what I did, just didn't look clean.

Cooled by none other than the HK 3.0

I switched out Scythe Ultra Kaze 2000's for some silent Scythe Gentle Typhoons and OMG, so quiet now:D And I even managed to get an older Thermochill PA120.3 to fit

5970 cooled by EK nickel plated waterblock. I can finally reach 1 Ghz running at 39c max temp

External rad for the 5970. I was going to install it internally but didnt want the heat generated by the card flowing in the case

Finished throwing my 5870 into the loop. Tried it yesterday but when I went to turn on the pc, I got nothing on the display. Scared me I F'd up the card, but I put the stock cooler back on with the waterblock hanging there in my loop and it worked again. Think the tube coming out of the cpu was a tad too long, was pushing the card down a little. Took it apart and trimmed it, and success.

I want you to introduce my rig:

b_142216.jpg

b_142303.jpg

CPU Waterblock: Danger Den TDX
Pump: D-5 Pump
Radiator: 240mm Black Ice XtremeII Radiator
Case Fans: Two 200mm CoolerMaster & 120x38mm LinkDepot Fans
Barbs/fittings: all 1/2
Radiator Fans: Four 120mm Yate Loon Fans
Reservoirs: T-line/Fillport
Tubing: FDA Type 10-Foot Clear Tubing -1/2" ID - 1/8 inch wall -
Tubing Clamps: all Stainless Steel Hose Clamp
Liquid: Target Distilled Water mix with O'reilly Coolant

My first liquid cooling set up, NEVER leak tested.. just plug and play for fours days as so far. I love Danger Den WC!

Note: Ahh, I just got rid of that air in my tubes. I modified it, cut tubing, and something different solutions to improve then the first one before add the liquid coolant.

My current, and probably last, WC build. I'm just not seeing the benefit anymore for what I need. I've been thinking about even tearing this one down and just buying a lian li and going air with it.

My latest and greatest creation. I have room for 38 Hard drives if I lose the cylindrical res and go to something that fits in the 5 1/4 area. For now though I still have room for 27 as it sits now which is more then I'll ever have (until next year). There are 4 Tripple 120mm fan radiators in this beast, I wanted room to expand my waterloop if required :)

Estimated weight is right around 150lb's. Keep in mind that the top and sides have real 1/4" plate glass in them, no scratched up plastic here. The cooling loop requires almost a full gallon of water incase anyone was wondering. I can run this beast with the fans off under load for over an hour before temps start getting out of hand and it can cool them back to normal leves in less then a minute! All my fans are running at 5V or less and I idle at about 3C above ambient at 4.1ghz. Video cards do not reach above 46C under full load and overlocked running 5760X1200.

I have to thank my friend Ben Rising at Mountain Mods in making this rig possible!

So my pump was dying a slow death, and one of my disks was failing so I took my system apart and did a cleaning/recovered data etc, then put it back together a bit more thoughtfully.

here are some pics of my bastardized Corsair H50 :D dropped my temps around 10c over the stock config so I am loading prime95 small fft's with an i7 920 @ 4.2ghz with 1.33vcore in the mid 60celcuis range.

shoutout to wildzcardz for hooking the 2nd rad up for free + shipping.

I updated my Corsair 800D case now that I finally have a HD5970 that doesn't have the cold bug. So with tearing everything apart I decided to upgrade the tubing to UV reactive, and colour of the coolant. Blue for Intel, Red for AMD/ATI. I also indulged with the HK 3.0 nickel plated version as well as finally a full northbridge/southbridge block for Asus P6T owners:D
