Hello everyone from the newb,

I built the following last weekend and thought I would post that I am not having any issues.

AV8 v1.1
Athlon 64 3500
Corsair TwinAx 512Mbx2
WD 250GB 7400 SATA
ATI 9800Pro
Antec 480 (or 430 can 't remember which)
That CPU sink/fan with the copper and alum fins like a bowl
Wavemaster Aluminum case
XP Pro but it will be a dual boot Linux I hope this weekend

No issues at all so far. Seems fast and stable enough.

Can anyone point me to the OC setup they are using?

Nice, I'm also getting the 3500+ and the ABIT AV8 v1.1. Well, my 3500+ is here but the AV8 isn't... damn you NewEgg!!! I have a similar setup so hopefully I'll get good results too. Have you tried OCing it yet?

^ I'm the opposite Bop, I have my AV8 (v1.1 btw) but didn't have the cash to order the 3500+, and now they are sold out at newegg!

I heard they got them back in stock... but for a hefty fee of $412!!!

I'm glad I ordered mine on Wednessday for $345 :)

Unfortunately its the OEM so I have no box/manual/heatsink. Eh, I save money in the end as I bought a SLK948U heatsink and Arctic Silver 5 to use it with anyway.

The parts listed here cost me 1750 ish at Fryes. I don't recommend Fryes what so ever though. I had to almost pop someone in the mouth to get this done.

I'm getting an Asus AV8, + 3500+ from ExtremeGear for under $500.00. Are these a good pair?

Do not get the REV 1.02 Asus board. Very unstable and discontinued.
