We have a 2 computer small business network with both machines running XP. The hard drive failed on one of the computers so instead of replacing the hard drive, we decided to just get a new computer. This is a work computer so I'm not going to be building it. So my question is since it seems all new desktops come with Vista, do Vista and XP machines play nice with each other as far as networking goes? I know I could just load XP on the new machine but don't want to deal with finding all the mobo drivers, etc. Any help/opinions is greatly appreciated.

I have no problems on my home network with 2 XP computers, 1 Vista 64 and 1 Vista 32. I have printers, drives, and folders shared.

Yup, no problems. Share level access is based on the logged in user. Know your username and password - make an account on the other PC thats the same. make sure they are on the same workgroup and subnet, then share the folder and give access to that user.
