Network shares - what would cause this ?

There not viewable in Network but when I type //(name of network share computer) I can get to the network pc with the folders listed shared fine. Of course first I got to enter the username and password.

How do I fix?

Network browsing is turned off, go to your network and sharing center, Sharing options, turn on network discovery

Go to windows services and start Function Discovery Resource Publication. Then make sure it is set to start automatically.

Why not just map the share as a local drive..... Then it will mount every time you boot and fill in the credentials for you....

And saying someone trying to help is "wrong' doesn't encourage others to offer input. Just a little heplful forum advice. Network discovery has to be enabled on both devices, and firewall rules in place if enabling it doesn't do that by default (it should).
