Network crashes during file transfer

Well at the LAN here there are 2 computers that, while trying to transfer files, disconnect, and say no cable is plugged in. I tried rolling back drivers and upgrading, still does the same thing. I was able to get small text files but when i try to transfer drivers on both machines it crashes. The machines are 2 very different machines with different onboard NICs. I can play on LAN game servers fine but cant transfer anything through windows or FTP.
 
I'd suggest replacing the cable :D

If that doesn't work look into replacing or trying a new switch/hub
