What is it?

If you want to do an unattended installation of winxp and you put xp files (i386 folder) on your share point and save there unattend.txt file, then you go to your target PC, and launch it with network boot disk and start the installation process...

What is this disk? Where do you get? How do you create it?

Thanks.

Thats called RIS, available in Win 2000 Server and Win 2003 server (using Active Directory I believe)
I used it at home for a while to learn it, once you figure it out, it works quite well.

you can perform a unattended install across a network using a network bootdisk and the proper switches after the winnt.exe command and your awnser file. RIS is easier but access to server 2003 isnt easy to come across for home user.. heres a link to a network boot disk and there are others out there as well,....google for them.....http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/network/
