They should cast Ciri as a black transgender dwarf with a peg leg and an eye patch. That might be worth a gander & price of admission.

The alt-right snowflakes are still whining about a character in a TV series not being a blond white female with blue eyes.
It seems I hit a nerve
As for your straw man argument, I've never written the emphasized part in your post that you seems to attribute to me, nor do I think so.
Actually, I'm pretty far from alt-left as I'm more of a centre-right guy, but that does not imply that I'm a sexist pig. I think several posters are in a similar position.

Yep, whining about her not being portrayed for what she is.
I love how wanting to keep a well established character the way she was created and adored by fans is some alt-Right whining by you people.
"Oh we're so inclusive and progressive and liberal unless you don't agree with us about everything in which case you're a crybaby that should go die"
Yeah, real righteous. Sounds like fucking hateful fascists to me.
Or the fine old tradition of blackface where non-black performers colored their skin to look like a black person, with the later upgrade of black performers colored black to look like a black person? Those damned snowflakes has destroyed that tradition as well.
You've some really mature and convincing arguments here.
It doesn't bother me at all and I think it will work well for the show. I think Henry Cavill is a good choice for Geralt IMO. I think he will do the character justice because he likes the games and books. That to me is a very important thing.
I would be fine with most race related changes depending on the character background. Yes Superman was played by an Asian guy (Lois & Clark TV series Dean Cain is Asian) and I thought it worked better because superman wasn't being played by the usual white guy in a cape. Superman is an alien who only is suppose to look like an earthling and could blend in. So what race he resembles here on earth is really irrelevant. I probably wouldn't feel the same if they did a BAME replacement for say Bruce Wayne, Barry Allen, Peter Parker, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers due to their established origins being on earth, but aliens and those born in fantasy worlds, I have no issue as long as the actor they hire plays them properly.
As far as the source material goes, it takes place in a fictional world so they can cast or make whatever character changes they want in regards to race. Sure the author modeled his world after North Eastern Europe but Ciri's background is a descendant if Elves since her lineage bred with elves and is the reason she has Elder Blood that gives her her powers, so I think a BAME casting isn't a bad choice for her character. Having Ciri stand out like that, I think will help give her that "mysterious power" kind of look.
Now that is the pot calling the kettle black. I do not think there is much point in conversing with you, so I just bow out. Have a nice evening.
