Need your opionion on this MSI hd 6950 quality

I want a one I can unlock but am iffy about the quality of this card

As far as that card goes, it will probably unlock but its probably going to run warm.


I just unlocked 3 of these today 6950's to 6970's

Tried unlocking 2 of these and didn't work, AMD Laser cut the these newer ones so you can't unlock the remaining streaming processors.

Safest way to unlock the streaming processors. The two cards that had their streaming processors cut still boot fine and work with no issues.

I have a reference xfx hd 6950. I was looking for another reference card for CF. So you only recommend unlocking just the shaders and leaving voltages alone. Do you overclock your unlocked cards?

I have the MSI card and know of 3 others out there and none of us have had any issues

So far what I have to say that both of my MSI 6950's have unlocked and overclocked to 950, I try to not push the ram as much as I want 'cause know the mem has a little lower standards compared to the 6970.. Temp stay nice too.

Try if you can to get a reference card.
So just be carefull with the memory

IMHO MSI is a solid brand... I haven't unlocked a 6950 but, like all OC/unlocking YMMV...

im planning on buying 2 more, but are all twin FROZR unlocable?
