Hey guys, I have been out of the PC gaming side of comupters for a while and have recently started getting back into it with MSFSX, COD, and etc. I want to pick up a better video card than the 5550 I have now. I am running an Athlon 2 X3 450 (unlocked to 4 cores) with a single video card capable board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131673

What I am looking for is simple. I want to spend just enough to get my by at decent (not high, or even medium really) settings in BF3, and I want to be able to turn Flight Sim X up all the way. So with this in mind, what do you guys recommend? I have been looking at these cards, but I could be way off:

Will those work? Can I get by with less? I just can't justify a $300 video card with as much as I play REALLY graphics heavy games, so I just want enough to get by with my requirements above.

Thanks!

Depends what you're playing. For some games the HD6790 is ample, others it's woefully inadequate (at max detail).

Depends on the resolution:
At 1920x1080 Ultra, around 23fps average, 17fps minimum. With AA/AO switched off, 40fps average, 30fps minimum.
At 1680x1050, it would be 27/20 at ultra and 47/35 with no AA or AO.

Honestly if it will run BF3 at those settings that will be enough for me. I just don't play enough to spend a pile of money on a card.
