Need thoughts on Satellite / Cable in Apartment

Hello All - I need some input / suggestions for this. I live in an apartment and cannot get Satellite as my apartment faces the wrong direction and does not have a clear view of the sky... so the DirecTV dude tells me. The cable in the apartment that I am offered is atrocious, meaning bad / fuzzy picture and is very expensive. It is called TV Maax.

Anyways, do any of you [H] guys or gals have any suggestions? I have pretty mediocre Qwest DSL (256k), so I don’t know if TV over the internet would work very well. Honestly I only want TV for sports. Any thoughts? Or new technologies I should be aware of? Thanks for your input ahead of time!

That might not be worth it since you're in an apartment. I'd suggest moving if TV was that important to you =P or find a homie with a tivo (or mythTV box; or MCE box; or any PVR system), lol.
