I have a female friend who is looking to downsize her current Antec P180 monstrosity with something more manageable and easy to carry to LAN's and such.

Currently she has a full ATX motherboard based Core i7 920 system and we're looking at either MicroATX or MiniITX but deciding on a case is hard. She loves purple but most if not all purple cases we've found are just crap and/or not available any longer.

Any ideas guys?

The Lian-Li I linked to above also comes in red and silver:

...I just think it looks best in black. Personally I think a purple brushed aluminum case would look pretty sweet, but I don't know of any. Maybe you could buy a silver aluminum case and then anodize it yourself? I'm not sure how that would work, or if you can anodize metal that's already been anodized...maybe someone else here could help with that.

You should get here this quality case, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112334

Comes with black internals already so you won't have to powdercoat it and you can also go with a sweet purple theme if you go watercooling with purple tubing + lights. Great case for the price, I know it's a bit stiff but I don't see why people skimp on cases, I mean your gonna have it for over 2 years (usually, my case haha) and while you keep upgrading your hardware, the case doesn't really change much at all. Also if you go with this case you can fit 2x 240mm radiators easy if you take off the HDD cages and the 5.25" bays. Or if your really tight on cash, you can get the Lian Li A04 which is basically the same case (same internals) but has a 92mm (i think) exhaust on the back but it doesn't come with a fan lol. Anyways, hope to hear from you soon, I'm also going with a mATX, now's the best time when you can get an amazing overclocking board like the ASUS Maximus in such a small form factor, and the price of motherboards in this form factor are SO much cheaper.

I have used this case before and the chick was thrilled. Nothing special inside but it gets the job done. Just make sure you take out the stupid plastic cpu airflow door thing.

I also like this newer case from silverstone a lot and have considered the back one for my lan rig.

Throw a few pink our purple led strips inside and it would look pretty nice.
