Okay, my setup is as follows: Ati TV Wonder Pro connects via coax to my DirecTV receiver. I record shows to a network share from which I access via my modded xbox using XBMC that is hooked up to my 27" HDTV in the living room. Basically, I want it to function as a VCR. Sounds simple right? The problem I'm having is that the files are too big and the quality isn't that good. I'm using the ATi recording software. I need someone to tell me exactly what to set everything to so that a 1 hour show doesn't take up 2.5GB's of space. If i can get it to at least TV quality I'm happy. Do I need a different codec? What about audio?
