Need some guidance on streaming TV options

I need some help streaming TV to the bedroom TV. I am ignorant to this and the options out there. I am also device agnostic. I have Charter and I can either get a cable box or stream it over the Wifi via a Fire TV, etc. I'm trying to see if it's easier to use over the Wifi or if it's easier just to get a box and use a remote. Any ideas, suggestions, or something I haven't thought about? Not looking to use a htpc. I just want something simple that we can use with out a bunch if fuss. If the setup is clean and not many cables, even better, but not necessary.
