Hello All!

I need help picking out what RAM to upgrade, I'm looking to go with 16bg's. I went to the G.Skill site to try and use the RAM configuration tool ( https://www.gskill.com/en/configurator ) but I think the X58 is out dated and not an option.

Does anyone know by chance?

My set up:

· Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 - Retail

· EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

· G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory

· AMD Radeon R9 270 Series

Thank you!!
Stuart

As long as you use the same ram. Meaning... don't mix old ram with new ram since RAM chips maybe different on old ram and new ram. I suggest you to go with 12GB kit. It's a tripple channel set. You can also go with 16GB but you will have decide if you want to stay with tripple channel or you want dual channel only.
So option 1: 12GB 3x4GB tripple channel.
oprion 2: 4x4GB will be tripple channel
option 3 2x8GB dual channel
option 4:8x3 24gb in tripple channel
If you go with 12GB Gskill kit, you could probably mix them with your existing ram since they probably programmed to have the same timing. Hope that helps. I got (2x4GB) 8GB Gskill kit for sale if you need.
