Hey Everyone!

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on some sort of monitor purchase in the coming week. Maybe the LG 43UD79-B, maybe a cheap Dell 4k IPS Monitor, maybe an AOC/Acer 1440p 144hz. I'm just a little worried about the possibility of having to return the monitor to backlight bleed, stuck pixels, etc. After navigating awful customer service returns for electronics in the past, I have become pretty paranoid about it. I've heard that Newegg isn't a great place for returns with monitors for that regard, but no sales tax sounds great! Then I started looking into B and H, which seems like a great place to pick up a monitor. Has anyone had any success or horror stories working through them? Should I just bite the bullet and go through Amazon?

I'd appreciate any and all guidance on this!

Thanks!

Avoid anything that isn't 144hz.

Also avoid anything less than 4k.

You don't want to deal with oled burnin either.

this is what happens when you ask for monitor advice without telling us your usage scenario: every monitor has a weak spot and compromises must be made.

IPS : low contrats, backlight bleed everywhere
TN: crap viewing angles
VA: horizontal gamma shift. Curved VAs have anecdotal reports of backlight bleed.
120hz+ - useless without ULMB mode
4k- no ULMB and limited to 60hz
OLED- expensive, no ULMB. Burn in still a (remote) concern
