Need Help Installing Xp on Toshiba!!

Ok my uncle had a virus on his laptop and instead of me cleaning it or trying to delete it he wanted windows xp. He is currently running ME, but everytime I hit F2 to go to boot selection I hit [c] for cd-rom and nothing happens, it just goes back to reloading ME. Now I tried installing it from ME windows but ie comes up and says there is some kind of error. (spool32) So when I hit install it starts running but then it says I have to restart the computer and try again. So I reatart and the same thing comes up!?!? Can someone help a noob tech out??? :confused:

edit: I have also tried making a boot up disk from ms-dos but it just to me to a: fromat???
 
Hey, 'cmon, man, that was less than an hour! This isn't a chatroom:)

Out of curiosity, what was the problem? Have to press "esc" or something?
 
Dude, less than an hour is stupid. Especially on a weekend. Take a chill pill.

You'll need to forgive my stupidity from time to time. I was a bit confused because he says he fixed his problem and your reply was four hours later. I didn't pay much attention to his second reply. Sorry.
