Okay, well I put together a new PC and I think I made a boo-boo.
I got the leadtek 7900gs:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122010
And for the slot directly under it I got this controller card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16816150012
After everything shipped, I took a look at the "single slot" cooler on the 7900gs and it appears the HSF on it takes up the entire height of the PCI-E bracket. I am thinking when I install this the top of the fan will be somewhat blocked by the aforementioned controller card.
So the question is, how does this HSF work? Does it suck air from the front of the case and exhaust it out the fan? Does it suck air in through the fan and out towards the front of the case? Or can it suck air from the front of the case and blow it back out the same way?
In other words, I'm trying to find out if the constricted airflow over the top of the card will make this card overheat. Is it a true single slot card that can have an adjacent card, or does it need a free slot for airflow? Thanks
