Need help fixing my wife's laptop screen

My wife's laptop screen started to act weird a while ago. I hope I can explain it, but anyway, if that's not enough I will make a video of it.

Sometimes, the picture gets messed up, and you have to open/close the lid a little bit until finding a spot in which the picture is clear as it should.

How do I fix that? The laptop is an ASUS X202E, and works fine other than that.

its most likely the screen cable is failing or loose. you can Google for a tear down video to get it apart to check the cable seating or find a part number. if its loose great if nor once you have the p/n you should be able to find it for ~$20. expect it to be in China and take a month to get to you. like this one:

Hahaha, looks like on there, need help fixing my wife.....there's something wrong with em man Lol.

Nah I don't know man..same thing like dead pixels on a monitor/screen have to send it back to em.

There are lots of parts for that laptop on ebay. If she doesn't use the touchscreen, try disabling the USB connection to it. Unfortunately, Windows turns it back on. BTW, one of the two that we have has the same issue.

cord is loose/possibly nicked a trace.

replace the ribbon cable, its' not too hard, just tiny, hope you have good eyes/not that meaty fingers

Definitely sounds like a cable issue. Have fun replacing that. I always have a great time trying to get the wires threaded through the hinges of laptops.
