Currently my gaming and HTPC are doing double duty and both hosting files all willy nilly! I just upgraded my gaming rig(long over-do) so I have enough parts to setup a NAS server.

Requirements:

Be accessible to Win 7 and rasperry PI's
Able to be controlled remotely whether it involves a 3rd party app or not doesn't matter
Be stable and fairly easy to use! I have been out of the IT field for quite a while and my Unix skills are rusty to say the least.

Hardware:

C2Q 6700, 780i mb, 4 gb ram, PCP&C 750w psu, gigabit Intel NIC

Don't think I missed anything pertinent but by all means correct me if I am wrong.

So? What should I go with? Thanks in advance!

Edit: After looking around a bit I decided to give FreeNAS a shot. Good? Bad?

FreeNAS is a good choice, it supports ZFS and can be managed from a web interface.

I setup FreeNas as a VM for testing and it looked pretty straight forward. I am debating on installing it on my current Storage Server as well.
