I'll be getting a video card in the next week or so to replace my 7600gt. I'm looking at video cards around the $200 so I'm looking at the 9600gt, 8800gt, and the 8800gts 512mb. Ideally I'd go with the cheapest, but I'm willing to move up more if its worth it. For now I'll be gaming at 1280x1024 so no problems there with any of them but I think during the summer I will try and move up to a 24" so 1900x1200 will be what I'll be gaming at.

Right now I only play Cs:S and tf2 constantly so I know all three will serve me well with most games at native resolution right? I doubt I'll be playing anything else as much, but will want to play some of the latest single player games occasionally at native resolution of course. I also want as much eye candy running too.

Also I really want to get a quiet and cool running card so I might be more willing to pay more and sacrifice some performance to get this. I also don't want to have to resort to changing to an aftermarket cooler. I was thinking of going for the Palit 9600gt sonic or the ecs 9600gt with the accelero. Thanks for any advice!!

Oh yea can any suggest a replacement for a 7600gt as I might sell it and I want a replacement. I'm looking for one that will max out tf2 settings at 1280x1024 and ideally 100 or less!

A 9600GT will probably do what you need, but the 8800GTS 512MB will definitely do what you want. It also runs cooler than a 8800GT. If you have the money to spend, an 8800GTS 512MB will last you the longest, with new games coming out.

Tough decisions lol. I think I'm leaning toward the 8800gts. It will fit in my cm 690 with no problem right? So its definitely a good step up from a 9600gt? I don't think I'm considering the 8800gt at all.

Any word on what vid card is slightly more powerful than my 7600gt for under 100?
