Well I'm about to build another pc and need a nice new monitor to go with it.Looking for the best 23" and up TN panel.I would prefer at least a 24" but i won't sacrifice quality for a little size.So far I have a couple of ideas from DigitalVersus reviews.First I'm looking at is this AcerAcer H233H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009162

Next and the one I'm most interested in is this new Acer LED monitor.Acer B243HL http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009203
Does anyone own this or have seen it in action?Sounds like its really nice just not willing to buy it without some feedback.

Then last would be the SAMSUNG XL2370-1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001380
I've heard nothing but good things about this one.
So any feedback i could get from the community would be much appreciated.

LED adds nothing to PQ, so I would just skip the B243HL as there are no reivews and it is a 5ms panel. If you must have an LED monitor then get the Samsung PX2370 which is 310$ @ Best Buy

You can get the Acer H243H which can be had for 230$ @ NCIX which is cheaper than the XL2370, but also offers better performance according to DV, but not Cnet.

Well i dont need a led monitor really.Just thought maybe it would help with black levels and the Acer looked nice with its adjustable stand. But i hear what you are saying. So unless I'm terribly mistaken this is the Acer monitor your talking about right? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009167 Oh and keep the recommendations coming.

Yup but its 15$ less @ NCIX.

Oh ok sweet.Well that looks darn good.I dont have the money for everything yet but hopefully i will soon.Either way unless anyone can suggest something better I think I'll go with the Acer monitor.

Well the Samsung doesn't look bad its just more of an average big screen which isn't really what I'm looking for.I want something with good colors and contrast/black levels first then size. That LED LG got less than favorable reviews for its terrible colors and the responsiveness isn't very good. The contrast is nice but thats only one out of the 3 criteria I'm looking for.Not really sure about the other LG.Are there any professional reviews for it?Or does anybody have it that can comment on how it looks?Oh and my friend has the Hanns-G and even though it looks pretty decent its not really a top end looking monitor. But its certainty an option. Thanks for the reply BurntToast! Keep the replies coming guys.

Samsung PX2370 is an awesome little Monitor. Loving mine.

Yeah i was checking out that Samsung. And it seems nice but according to DigitalVersus the Acer beats it in both color acuracy and contrast.2 of which are my main criteria. But thanks for the recommendation.:)

Funny you mention that monitor cause my cousin has that one.Its certainly not bad.Its got pretty good colors from what i can tell. Not sure about the black levels though since i haven't really done proper tests with it.I actually wouldn't mind getting an Asus monitor since i usually hear nothing but good things about them. But i really want some professional evidence to back up the claims about it.

Well i never ended up buying the Acer monitor because of my job falling through. But thankfully I have something else coming up.So again looking to buy a monitor In a little while.I no longer care if it is a TN panel or not.I have been looking at the Acer G245H and the Dell U2311H.Quick question about the Dell though.Even though it has a higher rated contrast ratio than the Acer, does it have better blacks? If it doesn't then i would just go with the Acer.Oh and if I'm missing any monitors that i should be looking into let me know.

Go with Acer over Samsung. I've used both of those and they're good quality monitors.

It's amazing that monitors have come up in price. I paid $150 for a 23" Acer about a year ago.
