Ok so a few days ago I went to Futureshop and picked up a Samsung 226BW. It was the C panel and I ended up bringing it back the next day because of ghosting and some bad backlight bleeding. I replaced it with the LG L226WT. I've been using the L226WT for a couple days now and i find it very annoying because the top half of the screen seems to be darker than the rest, it's only really noticeable when I'm playing World of Warcraft, which I do a lot, also it has worse backlight bleeding than the 226BW. Another thing I have noticed is that the quality of videos with the 226BW and the L226WT is much worse than on my 19" viewsonic CRT that I have used for the last 2.5 years.

Now I'm planning on returning the L226WT and I'm wondering if I should try out the HP W2207 or see if they will open the 226BW's up until I find one with the S Panel, but I'm reading that all these 22" monitors use the TN panels which are very low quality. There are a couple other monitors I'm interested in; the Dell 2407FPW, and possibly the NEC MultiSync 20WMGX2, but after using these 22" lcd's I'm not sure that i want to get anything smaller than that.

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has some helpful advice I would be glad to hear from you.

Or in the case of the inferior Samsung 226BW models, you don't!

I'd get the NEC 20WMGX2, but it depends if you can live with the size. It's not that small, is it?

No, 20.1" is not small by any means, I have a Dell 2007WFP, and I love it, IMO it is one of the best, but do your own research, it is deffinatly cheaper, and I don't think you get that much extra for the price of the NEC, but again only my opinion...

I had both the NEC and the Dell 2007wfp for a while. In many respects I preferred the Dell. However, I found the appearance of the anti-glare coating on the 2007wfp annoying, and eventually kept the NEC. If a sometimes-visible a-g coating doesn't bother you, I think the IPS version of the Dell is great value.

Did you try either for gaming? Is the AG coating on the Dell similar to than on a Samsung 206BW, for example?

Thanks for the advice so far guys. I was planning on getting the Dell 2407wfp but the price went up by $100 on dell.ca so now I think I might go with the 2007wfp. I'm sure the NEC is nice too but the 2007wfp is almost half the price and apparently it's almost as good. If there are any other 24" lcd's that are as good as the 2407wfp but cheaper than $699 canadian please let me know
