Hey.

I currently have a Socket A Tbred 2500+ (or was it 2200+) processor in a computer that my sister uses. It's not what it use to be, running Windows XP and the newer programs. I'm looking to give her a cheap upgrade, probably the Socket 754 Processors. However, is it worth while? Will there be a noticeable difference?

I'm thinking about this combo:

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103035
MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813138268
CASE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129157

Which heatsink would you recommend that is quiet, cool, and reasonably price for the socket 754 that would make it a good overclocker? A price of under $30 most likely.

I can save on the case and buy a case without a PSU (or with a crappy PSU) if I use the old PSU, but how much watts would I need to overclock this processor, 1 SATA drive, 1 DVDRW, a few fans, and maybe a video card?

I have a pair of Kingston HyperX ram from the Socket A computer. They're DDR 3500, will I be able to use them with this combo and are they fast enough for the overclock? If not, what ram should I be looking at?

What video card is good and cheap that will play less than mild video games? My sister has a daughter that just turned 6 and plays Hello Kitty World on the computer. She might move onto those schooling games later on and I need a card that can run those.

The rest I can get easily, SATA drive, DVDRW, fans...etc.

Your help and opinions are much appreciated. Thank you.

This one is right around your price range:

You'll have to make sure it won't run into your PSU, though. The socket on that motherboard is pretty high.

Thats a rather large case for a Micro ATX motherboard, might I suggest this (Yes, it comes with a PSU, but it's a pretty good one):

PC3500 is more than enough, you'll need to get your processor over 2.3GHz (216x11) before you start overclocking that RAM. :D

The motherboard you have picked out has an integrated GeForce 6100, which will be more than enough if he only things it will be running are things like "Hello Kitty World" and "The Cluefinders".
