I had a iPad 3 for ~6 months and realized I only used it for browsing and maybe the imdb app, and I don't really use a ton of apps. Now I have a Sero 7 Pro (Nexus 7 1st gen clone) but I find its too small, and Tegra 3 is too slow. But it was cheap ($90).

Now I'm looking for something with a larger screen which is light, fast, and within my $300 budget. Used is fine. Is a chinese 10" tablet my best bet? I actually prefer typing on a real keyboard and wouldn't mind a 2-in-1 but there's nothing even remotely cheap.

Asus T100 can be had for ~$300. It's a 2-in-1 with a keyboard and runs full x86 Windows 8.1. If you don't use apps much anyway, you'll get more out of the ability to run desktop Windows software, probably. Performance is pretty good, a touch below a Sandy Bridge i3.

Also looking at Dell Venue 11 Pro on their outlet, but once you add the keyboard its >$400.

There's a 30% off coupon for Dell Outlet right now that will take the lower end Venue 11 models down closer to your pricepoint:

As much as I am not a fan of chromebooks, this probably is your best bet to get within the budget.

Not really a big fan of Chromebooks because the Chrome web store is really lacking and really its just Android except with less development. But I need to try one out to see how it compares to a tablet and laptop in speed/usage.

According to the samsung page the screen resolution is 1366 x 768.

Why not look into a used IBM X Series?
