I have a carputer type system that uses a ATIOsys EMB-700cn board.

It has a PCI slot and I want to add a 3d gfx card to it but as you can see with the image it does not have hardly any room in front of it.
It will not hold a standard card with front bracket (or even with the bracket removed.)
Anyone have any ideas?
I know it has onboard video but I am thinking about upgrading the video a bit or at least I want to see what options I have

a PCI 3d card ? hmm.. haven´t seen those for a while, like since voodoo3, the best solution would be to get a new mobo a "little" bigger than this one and with AGP port al least

You used-to-could find some old MGA cards that had big notches taken out of the front of the PCB on the bottom. Good luck.

I don't think it's going to pan out for you though. It looks to me like that slot is designed more for something like an IDE or SATA controller.

That or it was designed by idiots.

Presumably the motherboard is currently in an enclosure that doesn't have a slot opening in the appropriate position, so I'm assuming you are flexible with how you can position things ...

If so, you can get flexible PCI risers such as:

http://www.adexelec.com/pci32.htm#PCI-FLEX

They'll cost about as much as one of the FX5200 cards mentioned above ...
