I am going to be moving into my new apartment pretty soon and want to get a new system for my rig. Currently I have a Audigy gamer card going to a Kenwood old style 80 watt 2 channel receiver. From the receiver I'm feeding a Polk 8" powered sub through RCA and the Polk is feeding power to two Kenwood book shelf speaker. Now then, besides size, I have no problem with my current setup. I would just like something a bit cleaner. Don't have a spot to put the receiver and can't mount the book shelf speakers to the wall. This is what I have in mind 1) Buy a set of These or These and use my Polk sub to power them. So it would eliminate my receiver (Audigy>Polk sub>Speakers). A downside of this would be I'd have to use the computers audio to control volume instead of a knob. 2) Get This and make some shelves for the speakers because I don't think they have wall mounts. 3) This is where you guys come is. What is another setup I could do? Budget is only a couple hundred dollars.
