Liked Mass Effect 3 multi when I played the per-release trial.

Is there one like that out there with alot of players?

pretty different from mass effect, but my favorite MP game ever. it just never gets old, there are so many weapons and classes and maps and game modes and new fun items and on and on... the game is regularly updated, theyre always adding fun new features, there are tons of servers, tons of people playing, etc. i would highly recommend you give it a try and see what you think. just dont get sucked into the paying for items part of it, thats the worst. :)
 
playing 'Ghost Recon Online' atm. not a big multiplayer FPS person tho can't stop playing for some reason.

it's a proper co-operative shooter without having to resort to voice comms or txt typing.
a 3rd person view game that switches to 1st person when aiming down sights.

pretty good balancing weapon-wise and you can pickup pretty much every weapon/armour/upgrade without coughing up any cash.

'the cynical brit' (total biscuit) did a good first impressions vid on GRO...

I was surprised by Blacklight retribution. Great gameplay but felt too much like pay 2 win in my opinion.
 
Pretty sure ME3 was strictly coop vs bots, so you guys might want to suggest games that aren't PvP.

I'd say TF2 MvM or Left 4 Dead 2 (It isn't free, but it's cheap.) would be closest in terms of gameplay, but the settings are both completely different.

PS2 or Firefall have a sci-fi setting. Firefall also has a large PvE component.
 
Tribes ascend, also it now has an option to buy all the weapons outright for $30

Agreed, I downloaded this on a whim and it keeps sucking me back in for some reason...can't quite put my finger on it

Great game, but surrounded by a horrible elitist community that want nothing more to isolate the game as much as possible from new players

i know right, what the hell is it about Ghost Recon Online?

it's not a realistic shooter but it certainly isn't a 'run & gun' either.
there's a fair bit of strategy involved. gotta stick close to your team mates for mutual buffs & to cover each other. if you're not sticking to cover for most of the game, you just get boned.

i think the weapon system is a big draw card. gotta be careful with weapon choice. some have a ridiculous DPS but handle like shit on full auto. others have excellent handling but lower DPS. the sound assets for the weapons are pretty damn nice too.

game's still in open beta so i'm sure it can only get better.
 
Quake Live. The perfect game for individuals with actual skills.

It's not like ME at all, ME is an RPG.
