NEC EA231Wmi Flashes desktop on power, then goes black.

I've got three EA231WMi monitors. They've been mostly bulletproof. One has been flickering for the last couple days, and today, I think it bit the dust. It will flash my desktop for 2 seconds, then go black. My power indicator stays blue, so it appears to understand it's getting a signal (rather than going into standby), but the screen is completely black.

This sounds like an inverter problem. Is it fixable? Or do I need to update to a EA235wmi?

Edit: This is not mine, but it's the exact behavior I'm talking about.

I bet its the caps over inverter. Open it up and see if the caps are bulging. Caps for the most part are an easy fix.
