NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Vortez has a review on it but they dont compare the tundra to the h80 only the h100. The build quality seems nice though.
 
That review is so far below amateur it's not even funny anymore. He is talking about RAM clearance as if the radiator is always placed in relation to the motherboard. No noise test just that it's "somewhat loud" at 100%. For some reason, he thinks a passive test is something relevant to an i7-3930K.

I'll wait for a decent review.

The only thing worth mentioning is this:
The connection points do not pivot.

How much height clearance is there between the GPU (with a full-cover water block) and the case floor?

Do you think it would be possible to fit a 1.5" thick Laing DDC-1T Plus pump and a 1.5" thick Swiftech MCRES Micro Rev2 reservoir in the space below the GPU?

It's around 55mm. He talked about it when he was doing thermal testing. He was barely able to fit a 30mm thick rad and a 25mm thick fan, but it was pushing up against the waterblock on the GPU.
 
I really kinda hope this stays below $200 incl tax + shipping to europe to Europe : /
(import duty is afaik 6% for aluminium pc cases)

What's the plan for the campaign? Are you 'only' figuring out shipping/handling and then the campaign goes live?
 
They're waiting on a production unit from Lian-Li to ensure everything is correct.
 
last update from 2 hours ago seems to imply the new prototype came in. i notice they didn't say they are waiting for it to be shipped, or waiting for it to arrive.

Been following / reading through this thread for a while now, just wanted to get some opinions from some more experienced builders here. This is my first time building a mITX build in such a small space and had some questions regarding heat.

I saw the thermal/noise testing but it didn't cover the exact scenario I wanted to attempt.

The build:
- ASUS P8Z77-I
- 2600k with stock cooler
- HD6870 reference blower cooler
- 1 SSD / 1 3.5" HDD
- 2x GT AP-11(500 rpm) or AP-12 (800rpm) mounted on the side
- SilverStone ST45SF-G (noiseblocker mod)

Would this number of fans be sufficient enough cooling for this size case? If not any input would be great.

Replace the stock intel heatsink with something better and it should be fine.
 
Any particular suggestions of a good quiet cooler that fits that dimension + a fan? I've never had a huge problem with the stock cooler so I've never bothered replacing it :)
 
Is the 2.5" mounting bracket next to the psu only cabaple of 2 thin SSDs (e.g. 7mm Samsung 840) or does it also fit two standard 2.5" HDDs with 9mm?

The Noctua NH-L12 will fit with any of the CPU socket placements and is a great lower profile heatsink.

It seems that new V2.0 version is more silent at low loads, which is precisely what we asked for.
 
I was going to pass over this case because Frankly I was never really all that thrilled with the design decisions that were made. The SG-05 had always been enough for me but I always wanted it to be aluminum. That and I always wished that I could easily move the PSU to the front of the chasis which is obviously what is going on with this case. So if costs can be kept down I may have to break down and buy one of these since I have always wanted an aluminum SG-05 and this is about as close as one can get.

That's a mistake actually, the connection point to the CPU block does pivot. I'll check with him to correct it!

There's always the FT03 mini. It's basically the SG05, just with the face pointing down. Not to my tastes personally, but it could be an option if you haven't looked into it.

If they had moved the PSU, I would have bought it already. Also as far as I can tell, it's still a steel frame which seems silly.

Tony elaborated on the difficulty of that engineering in another thread.

Perhaps we'll see one, but for now I'm happy to see Silverstone's response to the community concerns.

Does *any* manufacturer have a Platinum SFX PSU?

I think it's very unlikely you will see a passive SFX power supply that approaches 450W, as there just is not enough space to have a large enough heat sink to cool it.

When will the production campaign be opening? I noticed that you're early shipment campaigns were already finished (congrats on reaching the goal).

We've been in 'soon' status for a while now. But the preproduction sample is currently in shipping, and assuming everything looks good when I inspect it, we should be pretty much good to go for the campaign.

can you add a render like this but with the SG05/SG08 next to it please

edit: sorry to ask about this gain but I didn't follow the last updates. this is my friend's rig, he's not sure what ITX case to get and I told him to wait for this one but not sure if the AX760i will fit, will it?

That PSU won't fit unless you use a short graphics card under 200mm in length.

For sure, I'll ask Marc to review our TD02/TD03 once he finishes with another product of ours. In the meantime, there is a TD02 review up last week if you search for "TD02 review".

I honestly don't care about a psu being platinum (useless imo, if you factor the HUGE price increase). Actually, the only thing that matters is that the voltages are stable as a rock... and that the psu be as silent as possible.

Asking for a 450W passive sfw psu... won't happen. Just look the size of the heatsinks used on atx versions....
