How's your temps with the C12 on a 4790k.. does it pass any stress tests without throttling?
(not really troubleshooting your problem, I was also planning on moving from the 4770k to the 4790k and just wanted to know if that cooler worked okay with it)
Hey guys , anybody know where I can buy 2 Scythe Gentle Typhoon D1225C12B5AP-15 fans ?
Depending how adventurous you are with buying from overseas, you can still find them at Taobao (China version of ebay). There are also custom PWM versions of the AP15 available. According to several posters on OCN the ones sold by foresight.taobao.com are genuine. Part numbers D1225C12-00762 en D1225C12-B5ZP-40
He essentially said the 780ti already takes 600w by EVGA standard and the Silverstone 450w PSU is not even able to power the whole system and thus damaging computer parts.
It's Aug 4! Does that mean shipments have started?!
As for the estimated delivery date:
- customers in Taiwan, your package should arrive before Friday, Aug 15
- TW Air and TW S.A.L customers, your package should arrive before
Friday, Aug 22
- TW Surface to other countries, your package should arrive before
Friday, Sep 19
- US Economy customers, your your package should arrive before Friday, Sep 26
Well, that individual is either a painfully embarassing moron, or is trying to screw you. I'm leaning towards the moron explanation.
woooo! an NCASE M1 by the end of the month! so excite! hurry up and give the 600W SFX Silverstone you slow buggers!
Its not too bad actually. It runs pretty warm, but the highest I get while gaming is about 81c on a really hot day.

I ran the benchmark for about 30 minutes like a week ago (the screenshot is from today) and I didn't see any throttling.
He no issues with his EK pump, why should Swiftech pump fail then?
I have an MSI GTX770 (reference design) This card supposedly has the amazing titan cooler with plastic shroud instead metal, but it was basically stuck at 80C the whole time I played any games. I had a couple over-heat shut-downs too. I added a 120mm fan on the bottom in the back slot and now the GPU often drops below 80C, even down to 75C while gaming. The side panel next to the mobo is noticeably cooler now too. I was kid of surprised by the drop in temps (I wasn't really expecting any improvement with the addition of that fan). There have been no more over-heating events since I added the fan, so I think it was a definite improvement. Unfortunately I end up with GPU temps in the throttle range most of the time. My CPU is cooled by an AIO water cooler and has load temps in the 50s, so I hope to switch to a CM Glacer 240L + alpha cool full cover block in the future to further reduce GPU temps. In the mean-time I guess I will just deal with throttled graphics.
Is anyone, who has a reference card like mine, able to maintain temps below 80C while at load?
Someone, possibly from this thread, pointed out to me that the reference cooler for the GTX 770 is actually the Titan cooler. But it's damn hard to get one. Sold out on Newegg

EDIT: found it on Amazon

I'm more excited for the 500W SFX-L, bring on that 120mm.
I think the consensus is that it'll be a tight fit with a long GPU (130mm length + cable bend radius), but Silverstone have said that they're shipping them with the compact modular cable set s standard, so it should (just about) have sufficient clearance.we still dont really know for certain if this badboy is gunna fit yet do we? im really hoping it does, because that would be fantastic!
I'm guessing M1 shipping notices are going out in batches?
No, I'd already checked in case it had.Or into your junk mail folder?
I also bought a HIS 7950 blower style, can someone tell me if these measurements will fit?
I can't actually test fit it right now as I am out of town
PS: i have read the negative reviews on Newegg about the motherboard i'm using, ASRock Z87E-ITX, and the majority of them complain about a failing RAM bank on the motherboard. when i was assembling my PC for the first time, i had trouble with one RAM module and i had to RMA it. after installing the new one i RMA'd from Crucial, my computer failed to restart, and i had to disassemble it partially and make sure everything was reseated, etc. etc. and the problems started after that.
Yup, I am, for almost a year, without a single shutdown ever. I only have extra power draw from an SSD and a Swiftech H220 (2 fans and 1 pump).is there anybody here who is using a 290X in their M1? i have it paired with a i5-4670K, both being powered by the 450W ST45SF-G. neither the CPU nor the GPU are overclocked, and they're both running factory stock clocks (the GPU is a Sapphire Tri-X 290X, so it's overclocked a bit by the manufacturer).
It is NEVER EVER a good idea to hit a computer. Let me restate that: NEVER EVER.i have to let it sit a while (i.e., overnight), and i usually have to clear the CMOS and/or usually have to physically hit the case(!) on the left side, where the PSU and motherboard RAM modules are located --- i'm not using excessive force on my M1, i promise!
A computer PSU isn't rated for the watts it consumes from the wall but how much watt it can deliver to components. With the configuration I have, I wasn't able to pull 400W out of the wall while playing BF4, slightly less actually. So it's only providing about 360-370W at max, which seems to be in line with the hardware reviews.has anybody measured the power draw from the outlet for the combination of i5-4670K + 290X? is 450W really enough to run these parts smoothly?
I bought the blower style R9 280 a couple months ago once the cryptocoin bonanza subsided. It barely fits, the heat pipes stick out just about as far as the fan bracket. If this is a simple rebrand of the 7950, it should fit. However, when I went to the HIS website, it lists the 280 at 13.5cm wide, which fits in the 14cm limit. But the 7950 measures in at 15.5cm, so it doesn't look like it'll fit.
I had a good discussion with parva on pages 317-318 regarding this exact card. I ended up not getting it because of this very concern. I'm really anxious to find out from you when you're able to test it whether my fears were justified, or if I spent several months gaming on Kaveri graphics for nothing.
I've also had a few BSOD's with the heat and playing BF4, with the top and left side panel removed it doesn't. The CPU and PSU weren't overheating, but maybe another component does. PSU perhaps ? I have ST45SF-G with the fan-mod, so it might be possible because it is somewhat restricted with the top panel and lesser performing fan won't help.I'm running an overclocked 4670k and an Asus gtx 770 and had a couple crashes. I'm also in soCal and it's been sweltering out here. Slapping in a fan on the side panel definitely made my rig rock solid with this heat.
what happens when your PSU gets overstressed? and how do you determine that it's being overstressed? do you measure the power draw from the outlet? are there crashes/lock-ups?
I also haven't gotten an email. Nothing in my junk mail folder either. I had an address correction on mine (case was going to an old address while extra top panel was shipping to my correct address). If emails are going out in batches I can be patient, but if they are all supposed to be sent I didn't receive one.
