The panels also don't quite fit together properly on that case. Swapping the panels with the black case (which is perfect) gives the same result, so it appears to be the chassis :(

I have 2x tracking #'s -- "Despatch 0025" -- Taiwan sort facility as of 31 October. I was on early shipment list 1. Hope they arrive soon, I'll be in Germany after turkey day for a couple weeks and the wife might just burn them :p
 
I'll have to check mine when I get home. I don't expect to see anything yet since I live in FL. I suppose I should start thinking what mobo to go with the 4770k I already have. Not to mention which type of cpu cooler.

Edit: Nope, no tracking number yet.

How do you guys know what shipping list your on? (1 or 2)

My ncase account just says "early shipment list"

whats the difference between 1 & 2 also :)
 
I'm in VA and I got a tracking number, but no real info like everyone else.

It's from the first Indiegogo campaign that funded the prototype. There was an option to donate $10 for Early Shipment 1 or 2. If you are on the list then you must have paid towards one of those donation tiers.
 
To the person who got the H220 to fit on the ROG Impact: how do you "bend" the daughter board slightly out? I'm guessing that literally bending the PCB isn't the actual solution.

Yes, literally bending. PCB can actually take quite a bit of stress before fracturing.

If you want to avoid bending, replace the fittings and tubing with no fittings and smaller diameter tubing + some other kind of leak insurance, like zip ties. This is my current plan.

I'll probably go that route with 3/8"IDx1/2"OD tubing.

Hopefully zip ties will be enough to keep a good seal. Looking at Necere's watercooling test, it seems like he didn't use any type of fitting.

[edit] On second thought, I don't think using smaller tubing would help all that much. The lip of the corner elbow pipe is flush with the tube+fitting.

I didn't initially, but later I used clamps on the tubing at the radiator barbs, since it seemed somewhat loose. Barbs at the pump were okay without.

Are those corner elbow pipes locked into place? Also, this is with the armor cover thingy still on the daughter board right?

I wouldn't run the system without the cover / heatsink, but if I had that board I *might* consider modding it .. like, sand down a small divot or something to make it fit, maybe. Or, I see that the heatsink has a couple of angled slots in it. If the corner elbows are rotatable, you might be able to rotate it forward a bit and have the extra-wide lip thingy fall into that area.

But yeah it's definitely easier (and probably better) to leave everything intact and swap out for a different cooler :(.

Washington here, no priority list, no tracking info. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, but I can't sneak a peak because all the presents are in Taiwan somewhere :)

Cooler Master Seidon 240m is 273mm long and 'only' 48mm thick with fans installed.

So i'm hoping there is just enough room, though the Kuhler 1220 has the exact same dimensions :(
 
Built mine M1 yesterday. Just want to tell others, who have questions about parts ->

Asus Impact + Noctua NH-C12P SE14 fits without problems as seen on Neceres renders (with 14cm fan).

I'm using Silverstone ST45SF-G and if you want to have more disks, custom power cable is needed, because the one included is too stiff to bend if you want/need to have 2 disks together.

If you plan more SSD's or 2.5" disks - in box is included only one set (4) of screws with smaller convolution for SSDs and one set for MoBo.

Plan before you do any assembly, because all fits tightly and its almost impossible to change something when the build is done :)

That's what I did:

1) Take out everything (incl. the PSU bracket.)
2) Put in Motherboard (It is easier without the PSU bracket installed)
3) Put in PSU bracket + PSU
4) but in harddrives mounted direct to the case (not the fan bracket)
5) connect everything you have put in so far
6) Put in GPU & connect it
7) Put fans / HDDs on fan bracket
8) Put fan bracket in case
9) Put side panels on
10) done

Sounds like a pain already. Where does the CPU cooler come in?

I can speak only for myself (aircooled), but ->

1. put all M1 panels down, the part for 2 fans/rad out, the part which holds PSU out
2. assembly MoBo + RAM + CPU + CPU cooler
3. set (fan) cables on MoBo
4. put 92mm takeout fan to M1
5. marry MoBo with M1
6. put all other cables to MoBo (especially power cables; usb, audio, ...)
7. put the part which holds PSU
8. put PSU
9. put SSD
10. put/prepare power cables for SSD/HDD/GPU/DVD|Bluray
11. put HDDs with part which holds them
... all other as you wish (GPU, DVD/Bluray, ... )

As I've found out ->

If I'd put PSU before power cables, I'd be unable to finish assembly.
If I'd put CPU cooler after MoBo+M1 marriage it would be much more difficult to do it.
The part which holds SFX PSU needs to be put after MoBo+M1 marriage (otherwise its unable to put MoBo inside)
The part which holds SFX PSU needs to be put alone and then PSU (I've put it together and was unable to fit it inside).
SSD after SFX PSU (otherwise you are unable to fit PSU).
After CPU cooler install I was unable to put outtake 92x92x14mm noctua inside ( = MoBo out, Noctua outtake, MoBo in) :D

Can anyone confirm that it is possible to place the fan off center with the clipping mechanism? To me it does not seem like it is possible from the pictures.

Regarding the second point, I believe that it is facing towards the rear, i.e. ends of the pipes face away from the PSU.

Flip one of the drives over, so the power cable is next to a sata connector. I don't know how the ncase hdd mounts are, but I have managed to fit a 9.5mm hdd with a 7mm SSD sitting tight against each other, using the stock power cables.

If you have C12P heatsink oriented with heatpipes to rear (MoBo back connectors), you can place the SE14 fan of center in front-rear position, but not in top-down position (some small movements are possible due to the clipping mechanism construction).

I've 2 3.5HDDs + 1 SSD, If I'd flip SSD and 1 HDD I think it could be possible. Can try later.

So you can place it off center in the front rear position, so that the fan does not extend from the heatsink towards to the top of the chassis at all.I didn't think it could be moved down around 7-8 mm with the clipping mechanism, but it's great that I can.

I might pick this one up then and try it out. Hopefully I will not have to return it.

front-rear YES (parallel with heatpipes)
top-down NO (its possible 1-2mm)

C12P fits Asus Impact only in "heatpipes towards rear" position and it fits into M1 even if the fan extends towards top.

If you can put the C12P on your motherboard with heatpipes towards bottom and it fits M1, then yes. Otherwise not.

when 3. or 4., you can move the fan horizontally, not vertically.

Thanks again. On the Asrock Z87E-ITX I'll then have to place the heatpipes towards the bottom, and as I really need to move fan down a bit.

So it seems the cooler on NH-C12P SE12 will not fit with the Asrock Z87E-ITX as I need to move it down perpendicular to how the heatpipes face in the tower in the only configuration possible on that motherboard.

And now suddenly buyer's remorse kicks in. Earlier I was sure I wanted all-in-one cooling solution but I decided against that in favor of air because I feel it's more simple, and as far as I can read also more quiet. Air cooling just does not seem to go too well with the Asrock board because of the placement of the socket.

The Asrock board just arrived by mail... Decisions decisions.
 
Hey guys!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi and to tell you I received my M1 :)

It was already stuck in customs last week but I couldn't pay taxes right away so it had to wait.

Also, for anyone wondering, the Asus Geforce GTX 680 DirectCu II TOP does fit in the M1, but under certain terms:

-both the USB and audio headers have to come off the front, permanently.
-you can fit 2.5" HDD's under the card, but you need custom power cabling for them.

Here's a picture on how close the card's shroud comes to the power button connector.

Naturally if you take the shroud off like this you have way more room and even the headers will fit :)

The delivery of all the rest of the parts for this build will go into next week atleast, this wait is killing me :mad:
 
The Primary issue with the C12 fit is the distance between the top panel and the heatsink. This limits placement of the heatsink to a horizontal orientation.

My next question is, with heatpipe ends toward the front of case, by how much and how many fins occlude with the PSU.

Necere has confirmed however that heatpipe ends towards the back is OK.


Next point is - Fan installation. The heatsink itself is 63mm from centre, and we so far have a confirmed fit of the L12 in a particular orientation which confirms clearance for 62mm. Hopefully 63 fits, but thats going to be soo close.

This leaves no space for the anything to be beyond the edge of the heatsink. This includes both the Fan and the Fan clips. Having a 120mm fan will resolve this, if the clips can be within the edge of the frame. If you opt for the 140mm fan, you will need to move the fan down (perpendicular to the heatpipes) by the 7mm or so. This might be more than you can stretch the fan clips

Congrats on receiving the case! At least you can admire a beautiful case ;)

Love how clean and simple the triple slot cooler is, the advantage of having an extra slot of space for a cooler. Could you actually fit in 2x 25mm fans under the cooler instead of the stock fans?
