NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

That silver one looks gorgeous. And generally i don't like silver cases, but this one has all the right angles and makes good contrast with the black parts.

I have a duplicate order that's being refunded, that should be at least one more chance for you to snag it

Many 'forgot' the silver color :D

I hope wahaha360 will crosscheck that correctly, that all get the color they want :/

I strongly suspect that like me many people simply hadn't seen it in silver until the campaign went live. I wasn't even aware that there where photo's of the silver version on the ncases website until a couple of days ago, and all of the renders I had seen up until then had been in black. I purchased a black version as soon as I had the money cleared on Monday without really considering the silver too seriously, despite the fact that I thought it looked great, as I just wanted my order in so that I could breathe a sigh of relief after waiting impatiently for months for the campaign to go live (yeah, I know that a lot of people on here have been waiting a lot longer than that!)
Once my order was in it slowly dawned on me that to me the silver looks even nicer than the black, and as soon as I saw how beautiful it looked in the photo's I was certain that I wanted silver.

I used the same details and email address for the silver perk as I did for the case perk, so it should be pretty easy to cross-reference, right?

Meh, I don't get paid until the end of the month and I was going to have one of these if they were still available.

I don't suppose there are plans to do another run if the demand requests it? (apologies if this has been asked but I don't have time to trawl 118 pages ;))

I had originally signed on for two black cases, but went with 1 black and 1 silver after thinking about it for a bit :)

The silver does look quite nice.

hello all.
new to forum.
fascinated by the look and design of this case.
i have ordered a black one.
currently have my pc built in a fractal define r4, and when this comes in january i would be looking to move as much as possible into the small case.
this pc part picker list is my current setup :

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/pantar/saved/27G3
[my gpu is actually a palit 660ti but its not listed on the site- they are in and around the same dimensions]

my plan is to move the two ssd's to the front. not use the seagate hd. [temporarily]

1. will a full size atx [160mm] fit in?
I know on the website it says 140mm limit and its awkward because of wiring. But from case dimensions there should be, 240mm [case height] – 160mm [psu length] = 80mm. I know there is a gap at the top and you would need a gap in between, so lets call that 50-60mm left over space after putting in a full size atx. Thats enough room for a 660ti with a height of 45-50mm. What I can't figure out is, exactly where does the pcei panels start from the ground of the case. I can see there only being 20-40mm space between them but I see that as enough. I intend on “shoving” all the wires in between the mobo and psu, not underneath the psu.

2. ok now for the silly/ mental part.
The nh-d14... I know I know. Plan is to replace it, however, until I have to replace it, id rather not. If this means leaving the side panel off, [with the cooler sticking out 10-15mm out of the case] im ok with that as a temporary solution. From the dimension of the case it looks like it will fit in, but you wont be able to close the case. I know this might irritate some of you as going totally against the design of the case, but again, temp solution.

As I am not using the side brackets at all, im rough guessing this should be possible, ugly but possible. The reason why im willing to put up with this as temp solution is my mate is building next summer and wants my old case, board and cooler.

Doubtful. This is what it looks like with a 140mm ATX PSU: http://www.ncases.com/wp-content/gallery/m1-prototype/20_nsBi02C.jpg, http://www.ncases.com/wp-content/gallery/m1-prototype/22_UHjy0Tv.jpg

Depending on socket placement on the motherboard it may fit with the side panel off. However there is a strong chance that it will hit the upper case rail since its so wide all the way up.

ty sith, 1. seems so obvious now lookin at the pics, dont know how i missed that, guess ill just have to wait and see for 2.
nice one ty

Anyone know if you could use the Strider Gold ST55F-G 550W. It is only 140mm long and has the small cable kit availible for it. I think it would work.

Any one know?

NEwegg link:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256085&Tpk=SST-ST55F-G
JG review: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story7&reid=328

I would go with the SFX 450w, but it is not 43a+ 12v rail (which i need for the GPU).

Thanks

Just out of curiosity, what GPU(s) are you using that requires 43A on the 12V rail (over 500W of power)? Hopefully it has three 8-pin PCIe power connectors to stay within the specification!

I plan on using an EVGA gtx 770 ACX 4gb (i know its not a blower design, but i hope it will work, i am using 4 noctuas, basement and side, with an h100i.). It only has 2 8 pins lol. I don't know why, but for some damn reason, EVGA requires it have 43 amps+ or else it will not work. I may just go with a ref. 780 if it proves to much trouble. I just want to see if it would work.

Thanks

Your card uses less power than a Titan (which a number of folks are running on the 450W ST45SF-G SFX psu), you'll be fine :)

I have heard reports that this card wont run unless 43amps+ are delivered. I think i will risk it. Amazon has a good return policy even though i hate 'scamming' them lol.
Thanks

No card requires 43 amps. The maximum a graphics card can take is 300W, which is 25A. The rest of the recommendation of 43A is to cover their asses in case someone would like to use it with some overclocked 125-140W TDP monster.

Guess what - they say that 500W (43A) requirement for my EVGA GTX670 too. Except even with i7-2600K, GTX670, 16GB RAM, SSD, water cooling i hardly reach 250W at maximum load and my passive Seasonic X-460 runs just fine...

PS: Maximum power consumption for the !whole system! is 350-370W, and that is with 3770K @ 4.8GHz :
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013..._directcu_ii_video_card_review/9#.UhG03Rtmj2w

PS2: Or with i7-3960X it is 411W :
http://hothardware.com/Reviews/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-770-SC-with-ACX-Cooling-Review/?page=12
While in this case it starts to get close, remember what CPU are we talking about - it has 130W TDP.

Those numbers are most often measured at the outlet. You have to consider the efficeny of the PSU as well. Let say the use a PSU with an efficency of 92% at that power draw (which already is quite conservative - most likely less) the real power draw of the components on the DC side of the PSU is about 378 Watt.

PSU power ratings are always on the DC side.

600 cases claimed in 7 days, impressive! The support and enthusiasm from the community never fails to surprise. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who has helped make this project a success!

For those who may have missed out on getting a case, or would like to order a second one, we're working on a solution. Stay tuned!

If they open up more slots, I'm going to get a second in silver.

NO ODD Top Cover perk available on IGG now.

Can we also add the extra dollar for silver?

If you already added $1 for silver, then you don't need to add again.

If you bought two cases in different colors and want only one NO ODD Top Cover, email me at info AT ncases.com

ok sweet. I added one for my black case and I'll get a second if I'm able to get an additional case in silver.

I assume if you release more slots I'll need to add 40 to the second case for international shipping as well?

Yes.

A handful of duplicate purchases will be refunded, so there are M1s left within the 600 for people to get.

We decided to extend pre-orders on our own website for the few that missed IGG.

The Reason:
1) Funds sent by IGG to PayPal cannot be refunded 100% back to our backers. The payment is technically sent by IGG, not by the backer and the refund function is disabled. In the end, we lose $ from our own pockets in order to refund our backers in full.
2) IGG is slow getting back to our customers and us.
3) A contribution via PayPal between backers and us provides us certified shipping addresses of our backers for reference.

So the M1 Case that I ordered doesn't have an ODD slit? That's kind of disappointing...

Oh ok thanks for clarifying milkcow, I'm happy now because I plan on using an ODD with mine and the way they implement the ODD is pure genius

I noticed u have added option for 40$ for those who forgot to add 40$ for international shipping. Is it ok as it is and to not go trough the hurdles of refund, as i only added it as perkless when i made the original order?

That's fine.

Refund via IGG is too complicated and slow.

Ok, so what if I just let you keep my non-perk $245 "donation" on indiegogo and pay you $16 on your site(or directly via paypal) to get a silver case with the extra top cover?

If you contributed to IGG for M1, you might as well just pre-order the Top Cover via IGG.

On our website, you can't pre-order the Top Cover separate.

...
3) A contribution via PayPal between backers and us provides us certified shipping addresses of our backers for reference.

It provides you with billing address not shipping address. Which can be completely different. At least in my case they are.
Shipping address was stated on IGG page.
Billing address was stated on PayPal page.
Do I need to e-mail you to make sure you will send it to correct address?
