Is there such a thing as "Native" SLi support?

Meaning. . . are there games out there nowadays that don't require an SLi profile from nvidia and just use both video cards (or more) out of the box?

I've seen a few games (CoD4) that have an entry for "multi-GPU support". . . but I always thought that these were additional optimizations (that often didn't seem to work when enabled).

Just curious. Someone recently told me that newer games support SLi "natively". . . and my brain sorta hurt. So I wanna know just how "behind the times" I've gotten.

You still need a SLI/CF profile for the game. Nvidia allows making one if one isn't provided in the set of drivers. AFAIK ATi must include one or you're out of luck until they do.

Might be a selling bullet point for a game to state "Native Multi-GPU support", but it would still require a profile.
