My X370+3950?

I think it would work but you probably should make sure you actively cool your VRM. This board does have a very solid VRM (i own one) so it should handle it but probably not overclocked much.
 
No, it means you can buy a 3900X with no problems. You will have to wait till the 3950X is available to see if it's listed as supported...
 
Well if the leaks and information are correct, it will be compatible with most x370 and x470 motherboards. We have no solid answer. But an excellent educated guess is... yes.
 
They won't certify a CPU that is no where near it's availability date. Unless there is some unexpected problem during certification testing, they will update the compatibility list closer to the release date of the 3950x.
