I have a Dell SX280. It has onboard intel GMA910/whatever graphics.
I'm using the video drivers that were included on the WinXP disc. Why such old drivers? that's a whole other story. Pretty much, I'm stuck with this driverset, and have to live with it.
Anyway. If I boot up my computer with the receiver/TV off, WinXP changes resolution to 800x600 or whatever is default.
When I turn the receiver/TV on, WinXP goes through the redetection process (with the bloop sounds like when you plug in a USB device)
and I have to manually change the resolution back to 1920x1080.
Is there something I can do to stop this from happening?
I've read multiple methods to this madness ... powerstrip ... multires .. some way to disable redetection ... DTD calculator ... etc... and have done nothing but confused myself more and more.
