I went on a trip and turned off my computer (I usually leave it on all the time).

I came back, turned it on and it was artifacting. I took off the case cover and it improved. It still shows up in videos (both quicktime and WMP). I haven't tried playing a game but I suspect it would be really bad.

I have a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro with some Ramsinks. I bought it used and I have reapplied the grease once already.

I'm pretty sure I haven't changed any software that would cause it.

The only thing I can think of is dust build up or the fan not working properly. Have you ever overclocked the card? If so, try returning it to stock speed.

I thought it was funny. Many people don't ask questions. They are implied yes, but they still don't ask.

So what would you like us to tell you? It's used so who knows what happened to it? Maybe it's time to reapply the goop? Turn down your overclock and add another case fan? Clean out the dust and see if the warranty on the card is good?

Pick one.

yeah I didn't want to ask a specific question.

i'll take it out and check out the grease. I never overclocked it. dust is probobly an issue.

thanks
