My temps are stupidly high

- lapped E6600 on a P35-DS3L in an A05.
- lapped TRUE using AS Ceramique paste. Fan at 7V.
- 3.15GHz at 1.45vcore
- CoreTemp is reporting 80-85°C during load. Idling at 72°C

What the heck? Shouldn't the TRUE be doing a much better job? I hadn't checked the temps for a long long time and things have been stable, but I decided to check temps on a random whim and I'm kinda floored.

Any good ideas as to what's the problem?

How's cable management and your air-cooling set up? Adequate airflow? Equal airflow throughout the case?

You need 1.45vcore to be stable at 3.15???? My old e6600 was stable at 1.34 or so and had temps of like 70 on IBT only. Remount and repaste. Use AS5 not AS ceramique to try

1.45vcore is probably your problem. See if you can run at a lower vcore?

nevermind. Was able to clear CMOS and things are 'working' again. I'll still have to reseat the TRUE I guess.

even at 1.45v, you should not be idling at 70c....

I have a QX9650 @ 1.45v, and I idle at 38c w/ a lapped true and AS5. my CPU is not lapped tho. (28c if you use coretemp for readings and not everest)
