Both way off, I buy 99% of my stuff in bundles and sales. I do tons of offline gaming on my other PC that doesn't get recorded to my account.
 
I thought the Steam client itself tracked your game time, regardless if you're online or not. It just updates your online profile next time you connect.

Never has for me when I play offline. I can play offline for hours then log on. Go to a different computer and it doesn't show I played that time or in some cases some games at all that I have beaten.
 
It might be interesting to go dig through all my receipts, total it all up and figure out what the actual discrepancy is between what the calculators show and what I actually paid. But...

Tame by comparison, $2432.39 and 1243.1 hours over 8 years. 31% unplayed though...

The hours would be considerably higher if Steam had been tracking that all the way back to the HL2 days. Not that that's anything to be proud of.

The time played is so off in Steam. Only 1 hour of TF2. 10 minutes of HL2. 41 hours of CoD when I know my nephew did more hours than that in one weekend. So the time played isn't accurate at all. Still neat to look at. :)

I feel so tiny now with my 4 games on Steam :(

Oh well only been playing FFXI/V all the years and recently started to buy a few normal games. So far I got Tomb Raider, Hitman Absolution, Red Alert 3 and Metro LL.

though I know I have spent 1700 in gifts as part of my ongoing gift war with a buddy. thats where a ton of my games came from. I would say probably 200+ came from him.

you want to get really depressed try finding out how much you have spent on newegg or where ever you buy you parts from.
 
Wow... $1950.69 and 3,244.6 hours. Of course the vast majority of those games were bought at $5 dollar sales, etc.

You know, Steam/Valve refuses to report game sales. I wonder if it's possible for someone to allow their account to be "tracked" by some php script storing information in a mysql database of games owned and tallying them up. Granted it would only tally games that people enter, but it would be better than nothing.
